All-Day Trips
Depart Saturdays, 9:00 A.M. – Romney, WV
May 31, July 26, August 30, September 20
All-Day Trains depart from Romney at 9:00 AM and travel south through the Trough to Moorefield & Petersburg. The trains will then return to Romney at approximately 5:00 PM. Photo opportunities are planned along with a mid-day rest stop in Petersburg.
Loy Foundation Special Trains
These special trips may feature live music, or murder mysteries, wine tasting, and more. Ticket fare of $75 per passenger will benefit the Loy Foundation, which operates The Bottling Works, and ongoing projects for the community. This is a great opportunity to gather a group of friends for something different and fun! These special trains will will accommodate a limited number of passengers and reservations will be sold on first-come, first-served basis.

Clue: The Murdery Mystery - May 10, 6:30 P.M.
With the well known characters of Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, and others. Just like the board game, the patrons have to guess the murderer AND the weapon….candlestick, lead pipe, revolver, knife, rope….and maybe a gun! THE
The Pirates of Perchance - June 14, 6:30 P.M.
With apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan’s PIRATES OF PENZANCE, we go all aboard this sinking ship with Captain Bacardi, First Mate Morgan, and of course, a pirate wench or two with music and song emphasized in our pirate murder mystery.
Homicide on the Range - July 19, 6:30 P.M.
Our rootin’ tootin’ cowboy murder mystery with good guys in white hats…bad guys in black hats, saloon girls, stagecoach drivers…and a home where the deer and the antelope play…But someone starts slinging a six shooter…so smile when you say that, partner!!
Who Slew Peggy Sue? - August 16, 6:30 P.M.
A 1950’s time capsule piece featuring Greg the Greaser, Mary Lou, Dimwit Donnie, and Frenchy as they prepare for their big dance at Hicksville High. As the haunting Buddy Holly song plays, murder is in the air….and we finally discover who really slew Peggy Sue!!
Murder Takes Center Stage - September 6, 6:30 P.M.
A group of actors onboard the train are heading for opening night…with murder on their minds!! Here, the unique aspect is the murder that takes place during a “rehearsal” of their show. Join Donna Prima, Worthington Richards, Sweet Sally, and others for a spotlight on murder!
Granny Get Your Gun - October 4, 5:30 P.M.
Grab your straw hats and Daisy dukes for another favorite of the patrons, where the actors play 2 different roles; one male and one female, with quick costume changes, who really is the guilty party?
Monster Mash - November 1, 5:30 P.M.
What better way for the Halloween season than with a gaggle of ghouls, including Dracula, Wolfman, Vampira, Mummy, Frankenstein, and Bride of Frankenstein. They all have a howling good time…until one resorts to murder!
Murder at the Improv - November 15, 5:30 P.M.
When these stand up comics take the stage, someone could really 'knock 'em dead'. You might die laughing at this free form adventure as they take suggestions from the audience, improvise several murder scenes, and even take volunteers to join them in a night of laughter....and murder!!

Petersburg Railroad Show
Depart Saturday July 5, 9:00 A.M. - Romney, WV

Depart Sunday July 6, 1:00 P.M. - Petersburg, WV
The 4th Annual Petersburg Railroad Show will attract young and old alike. Railroad equipment from throughout the region will be on display, as well as model train displays, arts-and-crafts vendors, and more! Shuttle trains will run throughout the weekend, and don't miss the Romney to Petersburg Round Trip scheduled for Saturday leaving Romney at 9:00 am! Additionally, an excursion to the scenic "trough" of the Potomac Valley will depart Petersburg at 5:00pm. Please note departure locations for these trips.
Hardy Heritage Days and Historic Homes Tour
Sat September 27, 9:00 AM - Depart Romney, WV
Historic Homes Tour - 3-hour tour of several area historic homes. Moorefield Trough excursion. Homes tour included with ticket purchase.
October Fall Foliage Trips
October 1 - October 31 Depart Romney, WV
Regular 3.5-hour trips daily from Romney feature fall foliage in the Trough. Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM departure. Check calendar for weekend times.
October 4 & 5; October 11 - November 2 Depart Petersburg, WV - NEW!
Four-hour trips through the Trough to Sector and return to Petersburg. Departs daily at 12:30 PM.
Railroad Photo Special
Depart Saturday November 22, 9:00 A.M. Petersburg, WV
This year's photo special will depart Petersburg, WV for Green Spring, WV and return, covering the whole railroad. Photo run-by locations enroute.
